The IWW-CyROC is delighted to invite you to our event honouring the fighting workingwomen and their struggles! Let’s prepare for the demonstration on the 8th together over a drink at Kaimakli’s very own Social Space Kaymakkin, while sharing stories of empowerment, mutual support and feminine kickassery!
The event will culminate with a screening of the 2010 film “Made in Dagenham”, which explores the1968 Ford sewing machinists strike, where female workers walked out to protest sexual discrimination and demanding equal pay. Fighting against not only their bosses, but also the all-male board of their trade union, their husbands, and women’s traditional family roles, their struggle was the trigger cause for the introduction of the Equal Pay Act 1970.
When: Friday March 7th, at 19:00
Where: Social Space Kaymakkin
