According to the Maintenance and Interchangeability Chart dated Feb 1945, the A 2 indicator was used in early versions of fighter P 47 Thunderbolt (see image of the P 47 instrument panel from its flight manual dated 1943) and transport C 46 Commando. It was also used in the fighter P 40F Warhawk
